The project "Les Archives Vivantes" aims to revolutionize the storage and access to the audiovisual archives of the National Institute of Audiovisual (INA) by integrating the technology of data storage in the DNA of trees. This ecological initiative proposes the creation of a forest where each tree acts as a living storage medium, thus allowing for the sustainable preservation of the rich audiovisual heritage.
This concept innovatively harmonizes cutting-edge technology with environmental respect, offering a green alternative that reduces the carbon footprint compared to traditional data centers. Users connect to the INA platform and interact with artificial intelligence, to which they provide the details of their search. The AI is responsible for finding content that fits the users' needs and makes suggestions. The user chooses the video, and depending on the length of the selected videos, they receive a bonus or a penalty on their carbon card. Thus, their data consumption becomes more virtuous.
This project was created during the Hackathon DEFI by PwC in partnership with Audencia and École des Ponts Paris Tech.
